This is for today, (April 28th)
British actor Ben Barnes is probably most well-known to American audiences as Prince Caspian (from The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian). He also had a small role in the film adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s book, Stardust. His next roles are as a rich young Brit married to an older American (played by Jessica Biel) in Easy Virtue and as the titular role in the upcoming film, Dorian Gray, an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s novel.
Why He’s More Than Just Eye Candy: He bravely took on the role of Prince Caspian, which thrust him into fame pretty quickly. I suppose he’s toying with the chance that he could become type-cast as the handsome princely type (he’ll supposedly reprise his role as Caspian in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader), but with the projects he’s chosen recently, I don’t think that’ll be a big deal. I’ve been pretty impressed with the things I’ve seen him in so far, and I look forward to his upcoming projects, especially Dorian Gray. That’s a pretty juicy role.
And, a picture from his newest film, Easy Virtue (it’s a period piece, based on a Noel Coward play).
