hugh_jackman_oscarsI decided to switch it up with an older Aussie actor (instead of the young Brits I’ve been posting).  Hugh Jackman has had quite the year.  He starred in Australia’s biggest film ever, the ingeniously titled Australia (which was kind of a flop).  Then, he hosted the Academy Awards, a (somewhat) welcome change from the comedians who’ve hosted it almost every year until 2009.  He was voted People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2008.  His new movie, X-Men Origins:  Wolverine (or whatever it’s called) is in theaters next Friday.  Word is that he’s working on a stage musical based on the life of Harry Houdini as well.

Why He’s More Than Just Eye Candy:  What I like about Hugh Jackman is that he has so many different looks and hats that he wears.  He can be an action star, a romantic comedy star, a dramatic actor, and even a triple-threat musical star.   He starred in the musical, The Boy from Oz, about the life of gay Aussie songwriter, Peter Allen, and a revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma.  He hosted the Tony Awards, and isn’t afraid to showcase his (pretty impressive) singing skills.  A man who looks good, who sings, dances and acts deserves a spot in my list of Hottie McDotties any day of the week.
